- New State of Yugoslavia formed - Ottoman Empire "Sick man of Europe" broken up - Turkey formed - Austria and Hungary split up - Following countries were formed as well: - Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania To summarize, the geographic changes after World War 1 occurred because of President Wilson's drive for self determination.
